Tell us about your role at C-LIFE, how long have you been here for, and what is your favourite part of your job?
I have been working at C-Life for six years and I love it. My favourite part of my job is being the dancing creche attendant. It involves getting a small group of children who are under my care to perform some dance routines. The kids love it and I also have lots of fun in the process too!
How did you get into the Early Education and Care profession?
I always wanted to work with children since I left school. I have worked in the childcare space for the past 19 years and I have two diplomas in children’s services.
How do you like to spend your time outside of work?
I spend most of my time caring for my children. I do enjoy socialising with friends and watching my children participating in sports activities as well.
What is your favourite form of exercise?
I enjoy participating in spin classes and love playing volleyball when I get the opportunity.
What advice can you give to those whose child has not been to the creche before and is interested in placing their child in care?
Prior to becoming a staff member, I was a C-Life member who personally enjoyed using the C-Life Creche facility. I loved the fact that I could work out whilst the children were having fun and being cared for in a clean and safe environment. I remember my children would keep me accountable by often asking, “Are we going to the Gym today?”. This was enough for me to keep me coming back to the gym and use Creche. I highly recommend that you try it out for yourself if you have children too!
If you could eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I love sticky date pudding.
What is your favourite song to exercise to?
My favourite exercise song is “How we do”- X-Ray Barlone.
What is your favourite movie and why?
All the Godfather movies are a great viewing.
If you could work in any other industry, what would it be?
To be honest I would not change industries as I love working with the children.
