Staff Spotlight : Steve Baker
Say hello to Steve who has been with us for 18 years. He specializes in boxing and functional training. You can find him here teaching boxing classes or doing PT sessions with clients.
Tell us about your role at C-life and what is your favorite part of your job?
I am a group fitness instructor and a personal trainer, and my favorite part of my job is seeing people’s transformations and them becoming more confident and having an overall better outlook in life.
How did you get into the health and fitness industry?
I was introduced to health and fitness from a young age through my dad who was a trainer himself.
On your days off, what do you like to do?
Spending time with my family, working in the garden and anything to do with water like surfing, fishing or just a simple rest day.
What motivates you to be fit?
I don’t like the feeling of being unfit, it limits what you are able to do in life.
What advice can you give to people who are just starting their fitness journey?
Starting your fitness journey is the best thing that you can do for yourself. It is life changing. Just be consistent and stick to your routine as it will take some time before you see some changes.
What’s your personal record?
In my peak, I benched 150kg and squatted 200kg. I also have a fight record of 48 fights and 36 wins.
What’s your favorite machine/classes/exercise?
My favorite machine at the moment is the glute drive machine, it isolates the glutes really well if done correctly.
What’s your biggest achievement in your career?
My biggest achievement is winning an Australian title in boxing.
What’s your favorite post-workout meal
Anything with chicken.
