Tell us about your role at C-Life, what your favourite Group Exercise class to teach is and why.

I am a group fitness instructor of 3 years at C-Life, teaching both Reformer and Mat Pilates, as well as Core.  I was previously a gym member of 13 years, participating in many classes.

Teaching Reformer Pilates is my true love because it’s designed in a way to give everyone a total body workout by increasing strength, improving flexibility and range of motion.

How would you describe your teaching style and what can we expect from your classes?

Having completed lots of different Pilates courses over the years including a Diploma in Clinical Pilates, I bring a variety of styles such as the original classical Pilates repertoire, contemporary, strength as well as athletic reformer for improved cardiovascular health.

I love programming and designing my classes by using evidence-based research. I use layered clusters so that each class is different by creating something for everyone whether you’re a beginner or advanced. To spice it up a little, I like to use different props as well as offering modifications for members with injuries and challenges for more advanced and experienced members.

What advice would you give to a member wanting to try a group fitness class for the first time?

Group exercise is a great way to work out in a supportive environment with structure and guidance from the instructors at C-Life. Exercise is for everyone as it has a positive impact on our mental health and wellbeing.

What do you do for your own health and wellbeing?

Working out at the gym or going for walks and learning to play the piano.

How do you like to spend your time outside of the gym?

I’m currently taking a carer break from my full-time job to focus on my family and teaching Pilates. In my free time, I like going for long drives with my husband and catching up with family and friends.
