  1. You both joined C-Life in 2022. Were you following an exercise program or active prior to joining C-Life and what was your initial motivation to join? What do you enjoy doing most in your program now?

Vicki: Prior to 2022 we were doing treadmill and circuit work on our own. We both wanted to be fit as we got older and knew exercise was important. We enjoy the structure of the attending the Revive class and explanation of the exercises.

Jo: We took advantage of an offer at the time of joining up and haven’t left! We both love the classes offered and our favourite is the Revive.

  1. How does exercising together enhance your experience and would you be as committed if you were doing it alone?

Vicki: Exercising together is a good motivator, but we are committed to exercising alone too.

Jo: We started out exercising as a social get together (so it was a holistic experience). We would meet up; exercise then have coffee after to catch up with each other’s life. In our classes we have made great friends and there is always someone to talk to or have coffee with after our workout. We attend classes on our own also, but at C-Life you are never alone!

  1. How has exercise benefited you in your daily life?

Vicki: I feel healthier and stronger.

Jo: For me, exercising makes me feel better as well as happier. It starts the day which flows. Even if it’s a problematic day, it still flows.

  1. What are your health and wellness goals for the next 12 months?

Vicki: To work on core strength and build overall strength for daily life.

Jo: Look at areas that I can improve on i.e. increase my daily activity outside the gym and/or look at other days I could come to the gym. Big area for me would be diet and nutrition as well as exercise.

  1. What advice would you give to someone just starting an exercise program at the gym?

Vicki: You must start somewhere. The staff are willing to help you.

Jo: Don’t give up! The more you move, the easier it gets. Even if you are slow, just keep going. Every step counts!
