Posted on Tuesday, 19 November 2024

At C-Life, we believe that true health encompasses both physical and mental well-being. This International Men’s Day (IMD), we’re here to educate and support men in achieving their optimal health and wellness goals.

How the gym can support your wellbeing:

  • Stress Reduction: Regular exercise has been proven to reduce stress and improve mood and can provide a much-needed escape from daily pressures.
  • Boost Confidence: Achieving your fitness goals can boost your self-esteem and confidence.
  • Social Connection: C-Life provides a welcoming environment where you can connect with like-minded individuals and build a supportive community.

A key aim IMD, is to highlight some of the social issues that men and boys face, including the surprising fact that 50 Australian men a day are dying from preventable causes, before they reach the age of 75.

Physical activity can reduce these preventable causes of death such as:

  • Heart disease: Exercise helps to strengthen the heart, lower blood pressure, and improve cholesterol levels, reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke.
  • Type 2 diabetes: Regular physical activity can help prevent type 2 diabetes by improving insulin sensitivity and controlling blood sugar levels.
  • Cancer: Regular physical activity has been linked to a reduced risk of several types of cancer (i.e. colon, breast cancer, and prostate).

By incorporating regular exercise into your lifestyle, you can significantly reduce your risk of preventable causes of death and improve your overall health and well-being. In the wise words of Roman poet Virgil, “health is the greatest wealth”.
