How to stay healthier at work

Often it can be hard to reject the birthday cake or 3:30itis vending machine snack time. We have come up with some tips and tricks how you can stay healthy in your workplace.

  1. Keep healthy snacks nearby
    Instead of going to the vending machine and buying a chocolate, leave a bag of almonds or fruit on your desk. It will be much easier than getting up to go to the staff room.
  2. Pack your own work lunches
    Being able to meal prep and organize your work lunches also means you can control what you eat and how much you can eat
  3. Take breaks
    In between emails and tasks that you have done, make sure to take short breaks where you can stretch your legs and your muscles. This will help circulate blood flow into your muscles
  4. Always take the stairs
    If you don’t have time to work out today, take the stairs, you will thank us at the end of the day. This will be a workout.
  5. Drink Water
    Try to drink a lot of water during the day will keep your body well hydrate and help your skin. Try apps like waterlogged – daily hydration tracker. This helps you keep track of how much water you have consumed in a day.
  6. Restrict your caffeine intake
    Drinking your daily caffeinated beverage in moderation is key. Try to cut your coffee intake to 1 coffee a day. It will help cut the calories, help you loose weight and help you sleep better.
  7. Re-energize your body by walking.
    Walk to speak to a colleague instead of calling or emailing them, grab a glass of water from the kitchen or schedule a walk with a friend over lunch.
  8. Have a to -do list and schedule of what needs to be done each day.
    This will help alleviate stress and will help you get more done.
