Tell us about your fitness journey and transformation. What has that looked like for you?
I’ve been going to the gym since my early university days, but joining C-Life has made me more excited and committed than ever. The variety of classes caters to different fitness levels, allowing me to adjust my workouts based on how I feel. Initially, I focused on high-intensity cardio like spin, but I now enjoy a mix of HIIT, WOD, and Blitz, which combine strength, resistance, and cardio.
Recently, I started Reformer Pilates, adding a new challenge to my routine. I never get bored because the trainers are great at adapting and changing the workouts.
How do you stay motivated on the days you don’t feel like hitting the gym?
The gym is a great start to the day, helping me establish a productive routine. Exercising first thing (straight after school drop-off) makes it easier to stay committed, and it also provides an opportunity to connect with other mums who share similar interests and life stages.
What’s your favorite pre- or post-workout snack?
My favorite post-workout snack is a coffee from the Bakehouse Café just across from the gym, along with a toasted coconut protein bar from True Protein!
What’s the most unexpected lesson you’ve learned about yourself through fitness?
The most surprising lesson I’ve learned from the gym is that no one is judging you. Everyone is there for their own reasons, and if they can offer helpful advice, they will. Even the most experienced bodybuilders, who might seem intimidating, can often make you laugh and become some of your best mentors.
I never thought of myself as strong. I used to believe that sticking to cardio would help me lean out, and I was worried that lifting weights would make me bulky. But surprisingly, the gym has taught me that the best results come from consistently putting in hard work, and that dedication pays off. I now feel stronger and more confident lifting weights on my own, as I’ve gradually built my strength through classes and resistance training.
