MEMBER OF THE MONTH: SANA
Q.1 Tell us a little bit about yourself…
I joined C-Life a few years ago while my local gym was undergoing a major renovation. Walking into a new gym felt intimidating at first, but I quickly discovered that C-Life is like no other. The variety of group fitness classes, incredible instructors, welcoming staff and the amazing community vibe are what make it truly unique. Professionally, my background is in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, and Organisational Design, so I thrive on human connection!
Outside of fitness, you’ll find me shopping, trying local restaurants, sampling new teas with a good book, or experimenting with my Ninja Air Fryer. I love spending quality time with family and friends – most importantly, I am fully dedicated to maintaining my status as “the favourite aunty!”
Q.2 What exercise have you gone from hating to loving?
I used to dread running, but I finally learned to love it by slowing down. By embracing the 80/20 rule – keeping my pace at a conversational speed and treating my runs as a screen-free break – it became moving meditation. Blending in C-Life’s wide range of group fitness classes massively improved my running endurance.
Taking it one step at a time, I went from casually walking the City2Surf fun run to running half of it. Ultimately, my goal is to challenge myself to run the entire 14km from Hyde Park to Bondi Beach this year!
Q.3 What’s your non-negotiable when it comes to training—one habit, routine or mindset that keeps you showing up?
“Don’t think, just do”. That is my ultimate non-negotiable mindset!
To make this happen, I rely entirely on my calendar. Scheduling my training sessions before the week starts allows me to make decisions ahead of time and eliminates the daily mental debate. When gym time rolls around, I don’t negotiate with myself – I simply show up and get it done!
