Congratulations to Tracy Stephen, C-Life’s Member of the Month for May.

Tracy was nominated for her commitment to her training and her significant body transformation. Last month, Tracy completed her first bodybuilding competition, finishing  in second place.

You have been a member since November 2014, what inspired you to join C-Life?

I was really into running before joining and had done a few half marathons, but I was needing a bit of a change up. My friend Natasha Singh had told me about C-Life. There was a special deal on for Mother’s Day, so I joined. I just have to say, part of it was that if I mentioned Tash had referred me then she would get a free month’s membership. Well, I never did, and Tash still hasn’t had her free month. Sorry Tash!

What does being a member of C-Life mean to you?

It means a lot for me. I love training, but to be able to do it in a place that has great facilities and a fantastic atmosphere, it really adds to the whole experience. There’s plenty of days I go in not feeling good, but I always leave feeling uplifted. Not just because I’ve had a good workout but because of all the amazing people there, fellow members and the amazing staff! Everyone is so friendly and supportive and to be around others who share the same passion is really motivating!

What motivates you to keep training?

I absolutely love everything about training. I’m in the gym five or six days a week, it’s not even a thought to not go. Some days or weeks are a struggle if I’m feeling low, but I know once I’m there I’ll feel so much better. The strength it gives me from a physical standpoint and a mental one is such a huge motivation. Strong body, strong mind! I love seeing the muscle growth and mentally it gives me hope and empowerment to lead a happier life.

You have been training with C-Life trainer Noor, what accomplishments are you most proud of?

Training with Noor has been amazing. He really knows his stuff and is there for you 100%! The thing I’m most proud of must be our recent trip to Newcastle to compete in my first bodybuilding competition. It was always a goal we were focusing on but not till September or October of this year.  We were training a few weeks ago, talking about prep and I mentioned the hernia operation that I need.  Noor pauses for a minute and then says, “You know what? Why don’t we just do a competition this season? There’s one in 12 days.” I could not believe it, but the next day there we all were, with the gorgeous Marisa and doing our first posing session. The posing is super hard to do. It was tough and about day three I thought I have let myself handle it. Anyway, we made it to Newcastle, and I got second in my figure, first timer category. It was an unbelievable experience I hope to do it again but maybe with a longer preparation next time. Noor and Marisa were so knowledgeable and supportive, they really made the whole day amazing, and I’ll never forget it.

Could you tell us a fun fact about you?

I’m also known as Lady Tracy of Glencoe in Scotland!

What advice would you offer new members starting at C-Life for the first time?

I know not everyone is new to training when they join in C-Life, but for me what really helped was getting a PT. It was Margaret back then and she really made me feel more confident in how to use the machines and in getting my form right. It’s been an addiction ever since.
