Q.1 Tell us a bit about yourself and your journey in becoming fitness instructor?

I grew up in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, a city full of culture, music, and dance. I’ve always loved dancing and staying active, which led me to study Physical Education in Rio and later complete a postgraduate degree in Dance and Body Awareness.

I came to Australia in 2020 planning to stay for just a month, but COVID changed those plans. It turned out to be a blessing, as I found a place where I could pursue my passion. I trained to become a fitness instructor and earned my AUSTSWIM certification to teach swimming. In 2023, I went to India for over a month to deepen my knowledge of yoga and completed my 200-hour instructor course.

Q.2 How do you like to create a welcoming and inclusive environment in your classes?

To create an inclusive environment, I adapt my classes to all levels, regardless of age, gender, or physical limitations. I focus on making every session safe, enjoyable, and tailored to individual needs. Making people feel welcome comes naturally to me — Brazilians, especially those from Rio, are known for being friendly and warm! I love what I do, and it’s a pleasure to be part of this community and work in such an inspiring place.

Q.3 You teach yoga here at C-Life. What’s your favourite style of yoga to teach, and why?

My favourite style is Yin Yoga. As a holistic teacher, I enjoy working with the mind, body, soul, and spirit. Yin Yoga allows participants to connect with themselves, feel grounded, and achieve deep relaxation. I believe yoga goes beyond just the asanas, and I strive to bring that sense of connection and balance to every session.

Q.4 When you’re not teaching yoga, how do you like to spend your time?

I love spending time with my family, my husband and my four-paw daughter, Pompom. I also enjoy going to the beach, meditating, travelling, watching movies, and attending plays.

Q.5 What’s one piece of advice or a tip you always share with your students?

I always remind my students to engage their core, thighs, and glutes, and most importantly, to listen to their bodies and respect their limits. Safety and mindfulness are key in every practice.
